Truck Driving Training in Arizona

Arizona CDLBefore applying for an Arizona CDL you will need to obtain a CDL permit. In order to get your CDL permit you will need to study the Arizona CDL Manual.  You will need to schedule an appointment for the CDL permit test and bring the following:

Upon passing the AZ CDL permit test the applicant will be issued a permit which is valid for 6 months.  They will be able to drive a commercial vehicle for 6 months when accompanied by a licensed operator.  If they do not take the licensing test within 6 months they will need to retake the permitting test.

Once the applicant has earned a learners permit they can schedule a test to get a permanent license.

  • CDL permit
  • Applicable fees
  • A commercial vehicle to take the road test in

Testing

The first step in getting a CDL in Alabama is the written test.  The state requires one or more knowledge tests to be taken based on what type of endorsements and license the applicant is trying to obtain.  After passing the knowledge test the applicant is able to take the road skills test.  They also have the option of being issued a learners license so they can practice driving with another licensed driver riding in the cab.  When ready to take the skills test the applicant must schedule an appointment with the CDL licensing office.
